Grand Tour · complete collection

1994-2003 . Language: italian/english/french
Grand Tour is the name chosen by Franco Maria Ricci for his series, which revives these same marvels – from the most renowned to the most secret –in a collection of large-format volumes richly illustrated and complemented by texts narrating the historical and artistic fortunes of each location.
In the 18th century, the Grand Tour was the long journey through Italy undertaken by young European gentlemen as the climax of their education. They travelled through a land of wonders, dazzled by the extraordinary wealth of artistic masterpieces among which they wandered – from the Greek temples of Sicily to the Palladian villas of the Veneto region, from the Romanesque and Gothic cathedrals that were the pride of the free Medieval communes to the picture galleries of the small capitals of the Po Valley.

The series, featuring 34 volumes, is printed in two versions: silk-bound (more luxurious) and hardcover. Content and format are the same.
